Full Moon Flow and Restore – Lunar Flow in the Garden

Outdoor garden class welcoming September’s Full Moon, the Harvest Moon. (Weather permitting)

This evening’s asana practice will be a slow flow based on Chandra Namaskar (moon salutations) to encourage cleansing and restoration. Moon Salutations cultivate soothing lunar energy, this sequence invites you to draw your awareness inward and cultivate introspection, allowing you to connect to the ebbs and flow of energy. 

It it’s suitable for all levels including beginners, there will be a few active and powerful poses, but overall an extremely kind and loving practice to nurture your body and mind. Use this time for transition, release, and bringing much needed inner peace.

Back to Basics Yoga Workshop: The Joy of Backbends

Backbends are energising and uplifting, but can be some of the most challenging postures in our asana practice.

This workshop will explore: 

  • the anatomy of a backbend (hips and shoulders)
  • why it’s important to have a flexible spine
  • how to achieve deeper backbends in your practice with energetics and breath
  • how to reduce the risk of injury during backbends

This workshop is suitable for All levels! Beginners and those more experience who are looking to develop their practice further.

Back to Basics Yoga Workshop: Asana Playground
Saturday, November 26, 2022, 10:30am-12:30pm

An opportunity to work o­n whatever is currently up for you in your practice. How to get in or out of a particular asana? How to deepen your experience in a posture that has been challenging you? Ask for special tricks for any part of the practice that frustrates you. We will choose a bunch of individual issues from the group and go through them all, interactively.

Winter Solstice Yoga Mala: 108 Sun Salutations
Saturday, December 17, 2022, 10:30am-12:30pm

We will come together in breath and movement from 10:30am to 12:30pm, completing 108 sun salutations, broken down into 9 groups of 12. We will end the practice with a relaxing guided savasana.

The journey through 108 sun salutations is powerful. “Practicing 108 Sun Salutations is a meditative practice that connects the body, the mind, and the universe specifically when nature is undergoing a change. And coupled with this change in nature, yogis can start once again, fresh, renewed and inspired.”

All levels are welcome, but some prior experience with Vinyasa yoga is recommended. 

(MY) Menopause Yoga™️

(MY) Menopause Yoga is especially designed for women going through the stages of menopause to manage the array of symptoms experienced during this transitional time. Menopause Yoga offers both a therapeutic and empowering approach to managing the physical, mental, and emotional ups and downs in peri-menopause, menopause, and post menopause. Menopause Yoga (MY) workshops and classes offer helpful information and tips about:

  • Natural remedies
  • Ayurveda
  • Nutrition
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy
  • Self-Care

MY has been created after years of research by fully qualified and experienced yoga teacher Petra Coveney who is also a member of the British Menopause Society. Her Menopause Yoga Teacher Training programme, of which Shannon Hines-Clark is a proud graduate, has been accredited by both the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and Yoga Alliance (YA). MY has been developed with the support of Dr Louise Newson, recognised as one of the UK’s leading menopause experts. 

Shannon is currently running monthly Menopause Yoga workshops. These workshops allow women to come together in a safe, nurturing, supported space to talk about about how the menopause is affecting them, whilst also providing a variety of tools for your toolkit to manage symptoms. Women at any stage in the menopause are welcome.

Each month will have a different focus on specific symptoms. Workshops include:

  • Themed yoga practices
  • Themed breathwork
  • Women’s circle discussion
  • Meditation
  • Journalling
  • Light refreshments and healthy snacks during our break.

The yoga practice, and all the practices shared in this workshop, are accessible to all women. You do not need any previous experience. Whether you are managing peri-menopause or post-menopausal symptoms, yoga can help you cope, find relief, and navigate the transition into your “Second Spring” in a positive way.

Restoration and Relaxation- Monthly Restorative Yoga Evenings

Restorative Yoga can be a valuable tool for self-care, especially in challenging times. Restorative yoga helps to regulate the stress response and rebalance the nervous system, enhancing our capacity to heal.

The practice will not focus on stretching or strengthening, but on yielding and releasing; finding stillness and connecting to breath. You will be guided through simple breathing techniques, a combination of Yin and Restorative poses with each posture being held quietly for several minutes. In the Restorative poses we will use props to support the body allowing deeper relaxation. The practice is designed to leave you feeling nourished, restored and transformed; and is for anyone who has a hard time slowing down, who experiences insomnia, who struggles with anxiety, or anyone who just wants an evening to relax and restore. Each month will bring with it a different theme for the practice.

My Restorative Yoga evenings are held monthly on a Friday from 7pm-9pm. The next restorative evenings will be held on the following dates:
